Ukrainians Took Part in the International Session of EYP in Athens
Ukrainian delegation participated in the 66th International Session of EYP, which was held on April 01-10, 2011 in Athens, Greece. This important international event gathered more than 250 delegates representing 31 European countries. All participants were divided into 15 committees and worked on the problems under the session topic ‘European Democracy 2.0: Rediscovering democracy in its birthplace’. Delegations for the International Session were selected during the national selections held in all European countries. Ukrainian delegates were selected during the National Session of EYP-Ukraine held in Ivano-Frankivsk in March 2011. Among the members of the Ukrainian delegation at the 66th International Session were Ruslan Azarov, Iana Yukhimenko, Artem Humeniuk, Volodymyr Soldatenko, Victoria Rybchuk, and Yegor Vlasenko.
All session events were held in two Greek cities: Athens and Loutraki. Besides the committee work and resolutions writing, session participants had an opportunity to take part in many interesting events prepared by the organisers, which included team-building, country presentations at Euro-village, committee presentations, Euro-concert, and even a football tournament between committees. Besides, all delegates enjoyed walking city tours in Athens.
All motions for resolutions were presented during the General Assembly headed by the Session President, member of EYP-Belgium – Mr. Hamed Mobasser. This important event was visited by the representatives of Greek authorities, European Commission, and partners and sponsors of the EYP.
