EYP-Ukraine held a mini session in Kryvyi Rih within the Euroforum framework
“Dnipropetrovshchina – Ukraine – European Union” Euroforum took place in Kryvyi Rih during May 13 – 14, 2011. Delegations from the cities and regions of Dnipropetrovska Oblast (32 delegations and 53 school Euroclub delegations from the city) as well as volunteers, representatives from public organizations, officials from the Ministry of Education and Science, from the Ministry of Ukraine for Family Youth and Sports, from the Main Department of Education and Science of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, from the Embassy of Poland in Ukraine and Polish and German Leagues representatives from the nearby towns.
EYP-Ukraine held a mini Session for the students of the city within the forum framework on May 14. During the mini session the General Assembly was held, where 80 delegates and 4 moderators (Katerina Kayimashnikova, Katerina Zaloznykh, Oksana Kahdin and Daria Popelnukh) participated. The intention of the event was to show students how European Youth Parliament works and get them interested in further active participation in EYP activities. Besides participating in European Youth Parliament Mini Session Dnipropetrovsk students had an opportunity to participate in “Youth in European Area” press conference and contest-presentation of the tourist routs “Travelling around Europe”.
Euroforum that went on for 3 days included a number of grand events:
• The parade of the participants along the central street where each Euroclub was representing its country with national costumes, flags and songs;
• Opening ceremony was a vast and colorful show in the Kryvyi Rih Palace of Youth and Students, where around 600 children from different art and sport clubs of the city took an active part.
• European fair in Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Park was the finale of the event. City residents and guests were being introduced to the culture and history of EU countries and 40 teams engaged in an educational quest for a couple of hours;
• Gala reception for Euroclubs of the Olast in the JSC “Arselor Mittal Kryvyi Rih” Palace.
