Italian National Session 2011 Presided by the Member of EYP-Ukraine.
'Lucca is a city and commune in Tuscany, central Italy, situated on the river Serchio in a fertile plain near the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is the capital city of the Province of Lucca. Among other reasons, it is famous for its intact Renaissance-era city walls'. However, after the XXVI National Selection of EYP-Italy, which took place on March 19-23, 2011 in Lucca, an abstract about this legendary event should be added to the city description in Wikipedia.
After the first day of intense and joyful officials' team-builiding, where they eventually ended up in a 'sticky train of love', there couldn’t be a better way to finish that wonderful day as by an extraordinary Officials' Eurovillage. Having filled their luggage with delicious Ukrainian food beforehand, two representatives from Ukraine – Anastasiia Ianovytska, the President of the session, and Valeriia Cherednichenko, a Chairperson, – tried their best to present Ukraine in the brightest possible way.
The second day began with even more excitement, because it was the time for the officials to meet their delegates and to pass the true EYP spirit to the newcomers of this small, but yet big world of friends. At the end of the day, 10 fantastic teams have been formed and there was already something special in the air. Almost as a tradition, the second day of the session found its logical ending in the delicious, tasty and fascinating Italian village with so many delights presented from all over Italy. After that participants had the pleasure to enjoy the Delegation presentations and once more hear the histories of many cities of Italy from Piacenza to Roma, as well as enjoy some romantic tunes from Sardinia and watch a presentation by the 'Twilight' – famous delegation of Volterra. And of course, the Chairs and Journos teams prepared some surprises with remakes of 'Moulin Rouge' by Chairs and 'Paparazzi' by Journos.
Third day of the session was devoted to hard work on the committee topics, however participants also didn’t forget to relax and have some time to get to know each other better and talk not only about the serious issues, but also have some time to chat during cozy Committee Dinners.
With the time fleeting by, the last two days of the session were devoted to the fruitful debates at the General Assembly where delegates have fearlessly defended their Resolutions. Furthermore, during the Gala dinner one could have seen all the famous celebrities in case somebody has missed the Oscar’s night this year. And after that one could even be present at the Lucca Oscar’s night and see how the winners receive their 'Oscar-rabbits' from a Swedish journalist named Oscar during the 20’s Farewell party.
